Debbie Gibson is celebrating her electric youth 2.0
The ’80s pop star posted a sexy selfie in honor of her 51st birthday, posing poolside in a bikini at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.
“On this, the night of my Birthday, and a life moment that is like a rebirth, this felt like the perfect expression of my journey to this magical moment,” she wrote alongside the snap.
The “Only in My Dreams” singer continued, “When I was at my lowest points in the last decade, literally laying face down on the cold bathroom floor in physical and emotional pain, inside I was still looking up and trusting that someway, somehow I was going to find myself as you see me in this picture…”
Gibson — who revealed in 2014 she’d been diagnosed with lyme disease — added that the voices in your own head are “far more powerful than anything external threatening to take you down.”
Gibson went on to advise fans to be open to change and evolution within their lives, believing it allows one to “reclaim their freedom” at any age.
“You are worthy of living your best life. Happy rebirth day … hands to the sky and let the stars shower their light upon you 🌟.”
The musician followed up the post with one Thursday of her rehearsing new song “Strings,” from upcoming album, “The Body Remembers.”
“The vocals were cut right here in my home studio for all the leads. I usually looked very unglamorous as I did here,” she wrote, “especially while recording songs like Strings where I wanted my vulnerability to be front and center. Enjoy ! 💚”
