With season 1 of Netflix’s wild new dating show Sexy Beasts available for binging, many of the show’s new fans are wondering if any of the resulting couples walked away with legitimate relationships. Nina the Dolphin and Mick the Rhino seemed like a great match, and out of all the couples, many hope these two are still together. Did the Dolphin and Rhino ride off into the sunset, or has one of the rejected suitors swooped in to steal Nina’s heart?
Sexy Beasts seeks to answer the question "What if we dated based on personality alone?" in a truly bizarre way. The new Netflix show places sexy singles under oodles of nightmare-inducing makeup and prosthetics before sending them out on blind dates, to determine if they can make a connection without seeing their dates’ faces. Each episode features a new single that is introduced to three contestants. Those contestants rock disguises that are just as wacky, and fans are curious to find out if the dating experiment actually worked.
Episode 5 featured a beautiful ocean mammal and administrative assistant from San Diego, Nina the Dolphin. Nina expressed a desire to find a cowboy with whom she can share an emotional connection. Surprisingly, an actual cowboy from Texas, Dustin the Scarecrow, was out in the first round of blind dates. Nina’s final choice was between Mick the Rhino and Dominic the Mantis, and ultimately Nina the Dolphin chose Mick. The infectiously upbeat Rhino described himself as a “spiritual cowboy,” and beyond their emotional connection, each of them was clearly pleased with how the other looked without makeup.
On her Instagram, Nina shared BTS footage of her and Mick touring London together after the show ended, so they obviously spent some time together. It’s not clear if the alums of the English reality show Sexy Beasts are currently dating, but Nina and Mick live just a couple of hours away from each other, so logistically it could work. The two of them regularly like each other's posts on social media, and Nina tagged Mick in her post talking about her experience on the show. However, recently, Nina shared a video of herself at a country music event with rejected contestant Dustin. In the clip, she described him as her friend.
It’s unclear if the Sexy Beasts couple is currently dating, but there’s certainly potential there. Nina and Mick seemed to get along well and have spent time outside the show together. However, the same can be said of Nina and Dustin. Nina and Dustin didn’t connect well on the show, but perhaps in the real world, they’ve found that they have more in common. Nina could be dating Mick, Dustin, or neither. It’s no surprise that she would connect with multiple Sexy Beasts cast members, at least on a friend level, since she's such a fun and friendly person.
