Asylum Records has officially announced the signing of JoeVille. Today, the 19-year-old rapper and self-described lyrical poet celebrates with the release of the official music video to his buzzworthy single, “Sexy.” Watch the visual, directed by acclaimed cinematographer Caleb Seales (J. Produced by C Fre$hco, “Sexy” showcases JoeVille’s intrinsic knack for making people feel good with the unabashed confidence boosts he delivers on wax. “Sexy” began making an impact on TikTok, and to date, has been utilized by members on the platform over 730K times. The monumental visibility he garnered on TikTok translated organically to other platforms, yielding over 22 million streams across SoundCloud, Spotify and YouTube, among other DSPs. With influencers such as Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, Noah Beck, Bryce Hall and Itay Vargas picking up “Sexy” to soundtrack their videos on TikTok, JoeVille’s full catalog began getting serious attention, resulting in his first major labor deal with Warner Music Group’s Asylum Records imprint.
Hailing from Fort Lauderdale, JoeVille has worked tirelessly to shift his reality from experiencing homelessness and living out of his car to being able to support himself financially, all off the strength of his artistry, tenacity and drive.
Growing up in Broward County, JoeVille found himself immersed in a creative environment at a young age, thanks in part to his father’s work as an artist manager. While JoeVille didn’t initially express an interest in music as a kid, his trips to the studio with his dad eventually began to open his eyes, encouraging him to explore his creative side. He went on to form the group CLRD Candles alongside his close friends and collaborators, and began taking his music more seriously.
After graduating from high school in 2019, JoeVille drove out to Los Angeles with aspirations to take his career in music to the next level despite not having a plan or a place to live. While living out of his car, JoeVille released his debut project, CLRD Thoughts, a 20-track offering comprised of one-minute freestyles and his soon-to-be breakout single “Sexy.”
With the intention to inspire others at the forefront of all that he does, JoeVille has just skimmed the surface of his talents and has future aspirations to act, produce and above all see where his path as a multifaceted creative takes him next. JoeVille currently can be found working on new music, connecting with fans through his CLRD Questions series on YouTube and further honing his skills as a vibrant songwriter and born entertainer.
