60s and Sexy: A new spin on BYOB - Cranston Herald

Just when you thought that things couldn’t get any crazier, the powers that be have yet another idea to further destroy restaurants.

It’s bad enough that Gina has not let up on capacity levels and continues to make bars and restaurants close at 11 p.m. Now she suggests that we all go to restaurants and “bring our own blanket.”

Can you imagine what that would look like? I think that it’s a safety health and fire issue to have blankets on the floor and all over the tables and chairs. How long will it take for someone to accidentally put their blanket near the outdoor heaters that these restaurants are forced to buy?

My idea of a blanket is probably different than yours. Will there be a size limit? Can I bring a giant afghan? What will you do with your blanket when your food comes? Maybe we will need a blanket room, like a coat room. When will this stop?

On Friday, Gina announced that we are going to stay in phase three for another month. She snuck that announcement in knowing that no one was paying attention on a Friday afternoon.

When and where will it stop? Why can’t we as adults decide what risks we want to take? It’s gotten to the point that I can’t stand to go anywhere. I’d love to see the statistics on shopping habits.

I hate wearing a mask. It’s uncomfortable and I feel like I can’t breathe. Don’t get me wrong, I wear them to protect other people. I run into stores like someone is chasing me. I grab what I need and run out, just as fast! No more browsing the aisles, seeing if anything grabs my fancy. I’ve had gift certificates I received for the holidays that are just sitting in a drawer. Not only do I have no desire to shop, I’m not going anywhere to wear anything new!

I still feel that a lot of these decisions are politically motivated. I’m hoping that once the election is over things will open up and our lives will go back to normal. Not the “new normal” but back to the way things were.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
